Because of bed rest and a little sisters wedding the baby's room has taken a longtime to finish. Thanks to my dad for all the help with touching up David's paint job and for the bead board and most importantly the beautiful crib.

Growing up

I can't believe my little guy is 3 months old today. He is growing up so big. At his two month appointment he weighed 13.6 ounces which puts him in the 67th percentile. He was also 25 inches long putting him in the 66th percentile for height, but he was only in the 25th percentile for his head. So my son is a tall chuck with and small head!! Which means he is the most adorable little guy I have ever met!

I have been at home with him everyday and it is amazing to watch him grow and learn new things. Recently, he has started to carry on conversations with his cooing and we just can't get enough of his smiles.

On my Thursday appointment Dr Roth decided that bed rest was just not cutting it anymore and decided to induce me on the following Monday!
We were told that the hospital would call us on Monday morning between 5:00am and 9:00am to tell us when to come to the hospital. It was the longest night of life. Finialy we got a call at 6:30 saying to come in at 7:30 am.

Right when we arrived they started a drip and IV of pitocin. This drug causes contraction. When I arrived I was only dilated to a 1 and not effaced at all. The pitocin should help make the labor progress. At about 12:30 with still no progress Dr Roth came in and broke my water. This might be too much information but he inserted his hand and then put what looks like a large long crochet hook and riped the sack. Super painful.

As a side note, around this time I had not eaten since 9:00pm the night before so with every commercial that came on the TV I swear it had to do with food. I was starving and there was no end in sight.

The braking of my water was suppose to help make my labor progress, it did it made the contractions worst with less time in between and more painful. I was now dilated to a 3 and 70 % effaced. Around 2:30pm I had had enough and decided it was time for the epidural. The anesthesiologist came and had me roll up into a ball which is extremely difficult with a beach ball of a stomach. I'm sure many women can attest to this but the epidural was super painful I actually cried my eyes out, but it was so worth it. Instantly the pain was gone. Unfortunately one of my legs went all the way dead which didn't help with the pushing part.

With the continued supply of pitocin I should have been progressing a lot more but around 6:30 I was still at a 3 and still only 70% effaced my dr came in and stated that with in the hour if I had not progressed any more then we would be doing a c section. I had no problems with this. I know that will shock most people but both my mom and my older sister Nikki had c sections with all of their kids. I had seen the recovery and it wasn't so bad, I mean it was defiantly longer recovery and I'm sure painful but I wasn't afraid of going that route. David on the other hand was not wanting to go that route .

Lucky for David within the hour I had finally progressed to 5 and was 80% effaced. Dr Roth said alright lets wait another hour. In another hour I had progressed to a 8 and was totally effaced. Finally at 10:30pm and two nurses later I was dilated to a ten and ready to start pushing. I told dr Roth that this kid was coming out tonight and not after midnight. Dr roth asked if the was something special about the 15th, I replied no but I have been here all day this kid is coming out tonight.

Grayson Paul Pierce came in to the world at 11:57 pm on August 15th, weighing at 7 pounds 4 ounces and was 20 and a half inches long. Can you imagine if he was not three weeks early? He would have been a tank.

Because be was a little early and they were afraid of his lungs not being fully developed, he went to the NICU for a few hours to make sure he was able to be alright on his own.

It was the most amazing experience. He is just the most beautiful baby and is just perfect.
I'm so happy he is here.

Washington DC

This summer in June we went with David's family to the nation's capital. It was a fun trip with the family, but never again will I go on a seven day vacation while being seven months prego in a high humidity climate. If you have never been to Washington DC it has so much to see. And basically the only way to see it is to walk there. And I mean a lot of walking. Luckily after the third day we started getting a wheel chair in all of the museums. I don't think I would have made it other wise. But other then my complaining it was a great trip. Who knew how many national treasures this country has. So many things to see and even though I think 7 days was too long, there was still so much more that we could have seen.

Catch Up

So, as most of you know I am confined to bed rest for the next two weeks!! So in order to limit the boredom I figured I would catch up on my blogging! First off, for those of you who don't know, we are having a baby boy. He’s due on September 1st but I'm thinking that we won't last that long. Currently I have already showed symptoms of toxemia or preeclampsia. I have very high blood pressure, edema (swelling limbs), and headaches and most recently a bit of protein in my urine. I know this might be too much info but it was because of this that my Doctor put me on bed rest. Hopefully we can make it to 37 weeks which is in about two weeks. We are so excited to have this little boy come into our lives. We have decided that we will name him Grayson Paul Pierce. I already feel like he has a personality. He is a very active baby, I have to routinely get stress test at the hospital to make sure that my high blood pressure isn't affecting him, and all the nurses say that he is perfectly healthy. That he is very active and is currently not in any stress! He tends to be more active in the evening than in the mornings, which gives me hope that he will be a late riser like his dad and not up at the crack of dawn like his mother. I have also discovered that he listens to his dad already. Anytime I haven't felt him move for a while I have David talk to him and he wakes right up, it is also effective when he is kicking me super hard David tells him to stop and most times he listens. So here I am on bed rest.... I am requesting any book or movie recommendations and visits. I have decided that this is the most boring thing ever and that won’t change until the baby comes!!!!!!!!So, please come and visit me!

OH BABY

So I feel like I should have more to write about and update you all on, considering all the changes that have been going on in my life, but I just don't feel like there is that much to say, but I’ll give it a shot.

First of all, about a week ago we got to hear the baby's heartbeat!! What an amazing experience, I know you moms know what I'm talking about when I say that no words can describe what hearing that thump, thump, thump can do to a person. My first thoughts were that this is real; there really is a baby in there. My whole life I have never wanted anything more than to be a mother. I’m sure that it’s probably every little girls hope or dream, but for me it is even more than that; and because I have always wanted it so badly I have always had this fear that it would never happen for me. Many of the reasons why I felt this way was 1. I thought that I wouldn't ever get married, 2. I thought that I wouldn't ever be able to have kids, and 3. I thought that I would die at a young age. I know that all of those reasons are ridiculous, but really, that is what I have always believed would happen; deep down it has always been my biggest fear that one of those things would happen and I would never get the chance to be a mother. So when we decided that it was time to start trying I was dying because I just wanted to know. I just wanted to know if it would or wouldn’t happen. Really I know how silly this all sounds and I would never write this down for the whole world to see except that I want you all to understand how much this baby means to me and how amazed I really am. So when the Doctor found the baby's heartbeat I can't even tell you how incredible it was to know that this is real and that this is really going to happen.

I have started to feel great. No more morning sickness, except for one very random throw-up incident. I haven’t felt sick at all for several weeks and let’s hope this continues. I also have more energy, and by that I mean that I no longer need to go to bed every night at 7:00 pm. I'm still tired and wear out easily but at least I'm not exhausted. I am now in my second trimester and it feels like time is moving so quickly. Summer is right around the corner, even though it happens to be snowing right now, which means that we only have a few months until this baby comes (September 1st). My stomach has also started to pop. I am now sporting a nice round belly (let’s be honest I already had one before but now it is more pronounced). I haven't gained any weight yet and have actually lost 10 pounds since out first appointment. I hope that I continue that streak to the very end; less to lose after. This might be hard, though, since I have already started feeling an increase in my appetite. I'm just going to do my best to choose wisely when it comes to food.

For names David and I have only been able to agree on a few. If it is a girl we like Avery Bea Pierce; Avery because we like the name and Bea (pronounced bee) because of my great aunt Bernice, whom I love and adore. She happens to be very sick right now and probably won't be around much longer. I could not ask for a greater namesake for my child if it is a girl. She is a wonderful lady!

We also like Grayson/Gracin(?) Paul Pierce or Preston (Lynn after David's dad) Pierce if it is a baby boy. I haven't really decided on what sex I think this baby will be. Really, either a boy or girl would be great. We will most likely find out the sex in April. April…that seems so far away!!

So there are the goings on in my life. Maybe not too exciting for all of you, but definitely very exciting for the Pierce Family!!

So many changes..

When a new year begings most of us look at the past and think what can I do different what can I do better. Usually we will make some effort on setting a goal for the year in order to improve on those things in our life that we know need a little work. but as the year has started some many things have been changing that I have not had a moment to pause and reflect.

the last few weeks has been full of all sorts of changes

first on the 9th of Jan we welcomed our beautiful niece in to this world her parents picked out a beautiful name Aspen Joy. She is such a cutie. Her mother had a hard time getting her out which is to be expected because she was 8 pounds and 20 inches long and my sister inlaw is such a tiny little mom who knows where this baby girl was hidding. It was fun holding the baby at the hospital. Mom and baby are doing fine if not tired.

later on that night we found out that david's grandpa died. this was no surprise in fact we thought he would have gone a long time ago. he has been in the in a nursing home and has not been doing well for several months. The Doctor, in the first of december only gave him a few weeks to live. and yet he hung on until the first of the year.
we had the funeral on friday of last week it was very beautiful and explained a life of a man that had a life of progression. David's grandpa was in the reserves and so I think the best moment was at the grave sit when some men in uniform performed a tribute with a horn and also they presented the flag to david grandma. it was very touching.

well it not such a surprise but what a great joy on sunday my other sister in law decided it was time to have her baby. baby William homer was born on the16 of Jan and I was part of it. Rebekah had invited me to be a part of the delivery. it was very special and such a neat thing to see. Baby Will was 8.11 pounds and 19 inchs long, and is a little stud. Thank you Rebekah for inviting me to be a part of something so special.

As you can see it has been some busy weeks but I think the thing that is really wearing me down is one of the biggest changes in my life is... well I should start back to christmas.

We were at my parents this year for christmas, and although starting later then we usually do we were all opening presents when ooops of course I would slip on the present that I'm trying to open with a knife and shove it into my finger. after having my dad look at and deciding it was a little deep we made our way to insta care for stiches. After waiting for two hours the nurse finally brought us back to take my vitals. all the usually thing are asked" are you allergic to anything?, does it hurt?, and when was your last period. I repiled to all .
"No I'm not allegic to anything , no not to bad, and I had it just about a month ago but we are trying.
The nurse, you should have seen her face, said well would you like to take a preg test while your here. I think she was more excited then us. I said that was fine and proceed to pee in a cup.

Well there it is folks our big secret. At the instat care we found out that we were going to have a baby. well sorta the test was a little unclear because it was so close to my miss period that a few days later we took another one and got a for sure double line.

I have had my first dr appointment and am going in for another one in a few week to hear the heart beat.
we are super excited and and pleased as punch to announce that David and I are going to have our baby on or around Sept, 1 2011.

I have been extermly tired and have felt super sick all the time, but am luckly not hanging out by the toliets, well at least to throw up.
I'm so excited to start this new stage in my life. I have decide that this will be my goal this year to bring a health baby into the world. I think it is a pretty big task and one that I should be able to keep.

New York, New York!!

Okay so after a stressful Standby flight experience,we made it to New York at six am. Being on a Red eye Flight and not being able to check into our hotel until 4:30pm, We had tons of time to kill but too exhausted to do anything. We decide to take a shuttle from the airport to our hotel because like I said we had tons of time to kill. It took the shuttle three and a half hours to drive from JFK to our hotel in the heart of downtown NYC. It should only take a 25 min drive 35 tops with traffic. I think I would have been livid but I just took a nap and enjoyed the ride.

We stayed at The Hotel Roosevelt

It was beautiful and very cheap and great location about a 10 min walk to Times Square.

Finally we got to take a nap and a good nights rest and woke up to go take a tour of Statue of Liberty and then a Ellis Island with Matt and Bek and the kids.

It was a lot of fun and I was really excited to find out if my great grand father came through Ellis island. But to my disappointment apparently none of my family knows if he did of didn't. Including my grandpa, his son. I guess I need to get going on my genealogy.

Alright I know that I have been a slacker. I think I set my goal way to high!! Anyways I just got back from NYC and had a total blast. We hooked up with my husbands brother and his family, Matt and Bek and the kids while we were there. It was so much fun and I have tonz of pic and stories to write. But for now I will share one that a bunch of you will get a kick out of.
This happened Sat morning we got up and left to go to Times Square to hop on one of the Double Decker buses that take you around sight seeing. Anyways if you have ever been to New York you know that the streets are totally crowded. David was trying to pass a large group by going as close to the edge of the sidewalk as possible. I was trying to follow. He passed this man and I don't know if he did this on purpose but when I tired to pass him the man pushed me. I would have been fine if it wasn't for a pothole on the sidewalk. I soon stepped into the pothole, and lost my balance and went face first into a car's bumper that is parked on the side of the road.

Now I will admit I fall down a lot, in fact my brother-in-law Steven and my Dad laid bets on when I would fall not if during Graduation. But When I do Fall I don't want anyone to look at me or "come to my Rescue" I just want everyone to pretend they didn't see it.

Well My wish didn't happen.

I fell really hard, I'm pretty sure that I dented the bumper on the car. but the car that was parked behind it had people in it. Soon this Lady with a really thick New York accent jumps out of her car.

"Oh my Gosh are you okay Doll? That was hard, I heard that inside my car? Are you okay"

I'm just sitting in the disgusting New York gutter, just trying to hold onto my tears.

" Are you dizzy or Nauseous?"

David : "What happened?"
H: "I tripped from that pothole and couldn't catch myself, so I hit the car?"
New Yorker: " Take a picture (of the pothole)... and you if you feel dizzy or nauseous, you call a Lawyar." then looking at David " if she feels dizzy or sick you take her to a Doctor".

She was so funny but so concerned.. You have to read this with a thick new york accent to get the true experience.

Anyways long story short we didn't call a "Lawyar" I had a supper big bump on my head and dirty pants and a huge headache for most of the morning. But you know what is a good cure for a headache? A shopping trip in China Town and some good Italian food in Little Italy.

Flashy Friday!! or suggestions!

Okay so I'm not in love with the name Flashy Friday. I was trying to stick with my alliteration theme but Flashy Friday?? What does that even mean? I was thinking that I would post pics of the jewelry I am making every Friday but of course I didn't make any last night, due to the fact that David and I went to the temple. So I propose that you give me suggestions, what topic should I leave for Friday?? only stipulation is that is has to start with an "F".

But because I made this a goal and it is my second day I will make sure that I will post a Flashy item.

I love making jewelry. It is one of the many hobbies I spend my time doing. I used to sell a lot of it but I haven't sold any in such a long time because I got married and all I want to do is be with him.
This is the next big purchase I want to make. t is called "art clay" let me show you what it is all about.

Pretty neat huh? I think it would be really fun to learn and could make tons of original things. On FireMountainGem it costs $89.68 for the starter kit so needless to say I will have to wait to buy it.

Okay I had this great Idea today!! So I am always totally bored at work. I generally have nothing to do. I usually spend the work day looking at blogs. Side note: I love my job and love the people I work with. I also do do my job which is answering the phone and help out with the accounting. It just doesn't keep me occupied the whole 6hrs everyday. So while I have plenty of time at work, I look at blogs and read about everyone else lives. But I never update my own blog. So here is the deal. My goal: I'm going to write a post every day. I have such a boring life and I sure you don't want to hear about my day every day because here is what it consist of: wake up, go to school, have lunch with my husband, go to work, come home make dinner, then go to bed. Really it is so boring.

So I have decide to pick a topic for everyday and write a post based on that topic.

Just Another Day

I have decide that I need to review with you what has happened in that year!

I moved out of my parents house. I lived with some great girls!! Where I loved spending time with them.
I became more active in the church, went faithfully every Sunday. I also spent more time at church activities. I also started to pay my tithing faithfully so I could got to the temple.
I started dating more. I went on some interesting dates.
Became really good friend with this great guy named David.
Started to date amazing friend David.
Went to Disneyworld with David.
Got engaged to David/ Got my endowments out.
Married wonderful David In the Salt Lake temple.
Is one year closer to being done with school!
Is Happy turning 24 years old!!

Amazing how in one year my life can turn around so very much. And I don't think it would have happened if I hadn't made up my mind to make last year a better year. I made myself step out of my comfort zone. I really tried to make a change in my life and look at what wonderful things that happened. I guess turning 23 wasn't as bad as I thought it was. I have had a wonderful year.
So here is what I am going to do. This is a new tradition and I really want to do this every year. I will make one new years resolution on my birthday. I have a few I want to make. That I have written down. So here is the question are there any thing in your life that you want to change, or have changed in the last year for the better?

For all of you who came thanks for waiting in such a long long line. So many of our friends and family came and we stood in line from 6:00 to almost 8:30. Non-stop smiles and hugs and shaking hands. It was a lot of fun but boy was I exhausted.

My wonderful sister-in-law Kaite and her sister and a friend played in a string trio it was beautiful. Thank Ladies!!

We served Crepes, with all sorts of toppings. We didn't get to taste them but everyone said it was good and so much fun. I think everyone had a great time.
When there was a break in the line. I decide it was time to cute the cake and dance.

Of course I told David to be nice.

That doesn't mean I have to be nice.

But I helped him clean it up.

Then I got to dance with my daddy. I love him so much. He was whispering in my ear how much he loves me and how he was so proud of me. Ahhh I love him so much.

Then my hubby took over the dance!! I love this man so much!! Thank goodness I tricked him into marrying me.

Then it was time to throw the bouquet, and the guarder.

This was the random girl that caught my bouquet. I have no idea who she is but every wedding needs a wedding crasher. ;)

Bonner caught the Guarder...Hopefully Brooke will be the next bride.

But by then I was ready to go! So we said our goodbyes and changed our clothes. and hit the road.

After the reception hall was ready go, We took a million pictures... And I mean a million. Here are a few of my favorites.

Here is me and my girls

My best friend in the whole world Rachel Trayner. I love her so much. We have been friend since 1st grade. We have been through everything together, including many years of cherry hills!! I love this girl so much. Dosen't she look beautiful!!

Next is My cousin Brooke. This girl is my favorite!! We have grown up together as the best of friends. We even got married when we were like twelve years old. She was kind enough to let David take my over. I love her with all my heart. She has always been there for me.

Then there is Bugs. My sister Kailie and I are are great friends. Although we are three years apart she and I share many of the same friends. She is the greatest. She is always willing to play with me. I am so grateful that she is a friend that I will never lose, because she is also my sister. I love her with all my heart.

They all look so great in that dress. Even though they were so hard to make, they all look fabulous.

Loren is was David old roommate. He now lives in NYC going to Law school. He is Single and so much fun. So all you single ladies that live in NYC look him up. he is a great catch.

The is the other half Steve. David and him have been friend since High School. He also is an old roommate. He came with Loren from NYC. He is going to school there studying Law. And Ladies he is also single. So go get him girls.

Before the Reception Part 1.

So after a quick make-out session in the Marriott Parking lot. We arrived at the reception center. Where Melinda again helped me fix my hair.

And then got back into my wedding dress. My flower where just delivered for the center pieces. Also my Cake had been delivered. The day had been going pretty smoothly not hitches, well besides mine. but really we haven't had any problems. until now. The cake turned out beautiful But the flower lady didn't decorate it, she dropped off a bunch off long stem roses and Gerber Dasies. Everyone was standing around the cake going what do we do with it.

So I told my sister Nikki to go at it. She did an amazing job!! Looks like a professional did it.

Then I had my good friend Allie and Sandra so my center pieces. They turned out awesome.

The Luncheon

After a quick photo shoot around temple square, we showed up to our luncheon late. Expecially cause David forgot his recommend in his locker inside the temple. And everyone knows that the only way into the temple is with a recommend.

The Luncheon was held at the Downtown Marriott. Thanks to Rebekah and Matt and David's Parents for planning such a beautiful Luncheon. Rebekah ordered these cute M&M's with our names printed on them. The food was wonderful and the company was even better.

These are David's greatest friends. Laura, Loren, Janeen, Sarah, Steve, Caitie. Steve And Loren were David's Best Man. And yes I do mean Best man. These two are two pea's in pods. You can't have one with out the other. These people have been through a lot with David. They have been so welcoming and I feel honered that they have welcomed me into their group. Most of them came from out of town, Thanks guys it meant a lot.

The Luncheon was wonderful and we am so great ful for all the people that made it happen and who took time off of work to be there!!!

Wedding Day

Okay I know I know I'm a slacker. Life has been a little busy!!
So I got married on Jan. 4, 2010 in the Salt Lake Temple.

The Day started with me getting my hair done at 6:00am.
Melinda Anderson was wonderful enough to do my hair for my big day. Back up to when we got engaged I wanted to have longer hair for the wedding day and picture so I hope nobody can tell but we add in hair extension to make it look longer... If you can tell don't tell me. Thanks!

She is going to be upset that I posted these pictures... ah well.. I think she looks great, It's Six in the morning for heaven's sake.

Then around 7:30 am David came and got me, to take me to the temple. He was so adorable. He wouldn't look at me, because he kept tearing up. He said I was so beautiful and that it was hard to look at me without crying. I love this man..

We got to the temple around 8:30 am, where we filled out paper work and other documents. The Salt Lake Temple is so beautiful, everywhere you look there is beautiful art pieces that make us feel closer to out Heavenly Father, and our savior Jesus Christ.

As my mom helped me get ready she was fighting back tears... I love my mom and realize that this was a hard but wonderful day for her. She feels that she was losing me... I told her I'm not going anywhere!!

The ceremony was beautiful. I have never In my life felt the spirit so strongly. The sealer was wonderful, he really made the day amazing. My great grandfather, who died many years ago, birthday is on the 4th of Jan. and my great grandmother, his wife, recently died last summer. I can tell you that I felt their wonderful spirit and presence the entire time I was in the temple. It is true that we are families of forever. I will one day be able to see them again, and now that I am sealed to my wonderful husband WE also will be together forever. We are now a Covenant couple.

After changing into my wedding dress it was time to go outside for pictures we were greeted at the door by friends and family.

Tis the season...

As the saying goes "Tis the season to be Jolly", I can never in my life remember being this Jolly or Happy. I am a pretty happy person, I usually am wearing a smile, but now it is a different kind of happy. I'm stressed and swamped, I have no time to get all the thing I need to get done done. But I am truly happy.

When Dave and I got engaged people came out from everywhere wanting to give us advice, most comments were some sort of complaints about their spouses, and a few where what I would consider actually helpful. But most if not all said how happy I will be. I believe them.

Happy is a word that is so very common. It is a word that every one uses all the time. It is so common and so over used that to say one is happy seems like a total understatement. I once had a teacher that would mark you down if you used adjectives such as happy, and sad because they just aren't very descriptive. So I'm going to use the most descriptive words I know for how I am feeling

Content, Pleased, Glad, Joyful, Cheerful, Blissful, Euphoric, Floating, Delighted, Enchanted, Elated, Gone, Heavenly, Rapturous, Spaced-Out, On Cloud Nine, Fortunate, Lucky, Emotional, Fervor, Yearning, and Zeal.

In short I'm happy. I am so excited to marry the man I love, My best friend and partner in crime. And even though I know we will have hard times, and not everyday will be blissful, I know that I will be happy, because I will have the rest of my life and all eternity to be with this man. This amazing and wonderful caring man. He is such an example to me and will someday- not anytime soon, be a wonderful Father to our children.

Okay if you know me at all you will know how much I love to decorate. My family has nicknamed me Rachel Ray, because I love to cook and I love to decorate... Not that Rachel decorates but you get the idea. And when my mom wants something decorated or "crafted up" yes I just made up that term, she usually calls me. I even decorated her tree this year... and the year before... and the year before, etc, etc. Anyways since I am getting married to a wonderful man that owns his own home I will get the fun job of making his house our home. He doesn't know what hit him. So we decided last night for Family Home Evening, we would get a real Christmas tree, and than decorate it and the house. I was in heaven. This was so much fun, and here are the results!!

It is still really empty... but for now it will do! I have plans to add more, but I think we made a good start.

Guess What?!! I'm engaged!!

So it is official I'm engaged!! Last night My wonderful boyfriend got down on one knee and asked me to marry him!!

So we had dinner at Dave's house with my sisters and Porter. Afterwards we went to the park and played with Porter where he would throw sand down my shirt. We had a lot of fun at the park. We sad goodbye to everyone,and then sat down on the porch. He asked me if I wanted to go for a walk around the daybreak lakes and I said I didn't want to go I was tired from playing at the park! He asked me again and I said I didn't want to go!! I said can't we go tomorrow. He told me he thought it might rain! So I gave in and said I would go....

Side note I am a super big chicken, I hate being scared and I also freak myself out a lot!
Okay back to the story...

While we are on our walk I kept thinking it was dark and scary so I would say things like.. "what if there is a serial killer behind that bush right there?, This would be a perfect place for a killer.... What was that sound?... Did you here that?" The whole entire time we were walking. He was a little quite on the walk too... Which made it a little scarier because he wasn't being very playful. That happened through the whole entire walk.

Then we past this part where you get a pretty view of the Oquirrh Mountain Temple. I turned to him and said " Are you going to take me to the temple?" he gets all "Ahhh ummmm I don't know, am I?" So I was thinking okay maybe I'm not where he is, in this relationship.

We get to this bridge and I run ahead of him and stood in the way and I said "you have to pay token to cross the bridge" so he gave me a kiss and proceeded to tell me how much he loved me and how much he wanted to be with me and how he was going to take care of me for the rest of my life and that he did want to take me to the temple. I thought oh how cute and I gave him a kiss, but while we are kissing his arm starts to twitch and he was moving around.
H:"What are you doing?" and then he proceeded to get down on one knee...
H: "oh my gosh"
H: "What are you doing?" and he pulls open the ring box
D: "Holli will you marry me?"
H: "Are you serious?"
D: Yes I'm serious!!
H: YESSSS !!!!
I jumped into his arms... I gave him alot of kisses and hugs.
D: Do you want to look at the ring?
H: oh!! Yes!!!
And it was beautiful!!

The whole thing was a big shock and I feel really bad about not wanting to go in the first place, and making my self scared,I think it might have ruined the moment. I feel bad but not that bad!!! BECAUSE I AM ENGAGED!!!!!!!!!!!!

I am getting married to an amazing guy, who is my best friend!! Who loves me when I'm crazy, mad, happy, or sad!!! And I love him so So SO MUCH!!! I'm pretty lucky!!

I don't know any dates yet! Dave wants to do it before the end of the year... I'm leaning towards that side, but my mom want us to wait for 6 months!! I don't know if I can wait that long.

But I will keep everyone posted!!

My mom took my sisters and I to Witch A Palooza. It was so much fun!!

The decoration were super cute... I love these leaves hanging from the ceiling.

They aerve you dinner and then provide a show! With singing and dancing.

This was the lead in the play who also was my High School Choir Teacher. It was very hard to view him as a "Love interest".

But it was still a great time, all around!!

This is in Canada in Epcot, Funny story behind this one!! So David and I went off on our own the last day to see all the thing I missed. We stopped in Canada and started to take a couple pictures in front of the falls. While we were there, there might have been some kissing and such, but mostly picture taking. During one picture David got a phone call. It was his brother-in-law Spencer. He reported that the whole group had been in the Canada film below the falls and watched us kissing each other!! So know I have photo of us from the front and the back! it was funny but I was pretty embarrassed.

This was the last fireworks display we saw on the last night. It was fabulous!! Disney does have a way of making everything so magical!!

So life is crazy right now, and I can't catch up. Many of you know and have heard that I recently started my own business. This is such a thrilling experience but it is so consuming. I have about two shows a week but have been make more stuff during the week! I also am going to school full-time and working part-time. Then throw a boyfriend and homework on to that and you have my crazy life. Next week I am going to Florida with David's family for the week, you think this should be a relaxing vacation but because I'm so busy trying to get ahead in all my classes,it feels a little overwhelming. Then I think about when I get back from Florida I will have this and that to get done when I get back. I just keeping looking forward to the day when things will start to slow down but I see no end in sight! ah well at least I'm happy and enjoying it. I just hope and pray that I might catch up so that I can clean my room!! It has fallen pretty low on my priority list, hopefully I can clean it before it becomes a necessity. (who am I kidding it already has!!)

A day late and a dollar short.

So I was going through my posts and realized I forgot to put my pictures up for the Chris Cagle Concert. So here they are, a day late and a dollar short.

This was back at the beginning of august. It was held at the South Jordan County Fair for Free. So there was a lot of people there. Chris didn't do so well. He has gained a bunch of wait and lost a lot of his ability to sing. It was very nasally....and the speaker were up so loud. I went with My mom, Kathleen My friend Jill and her mom.

Larbor Day! Warning this post is long!!

So For Labor Day Weekend, my family usually goes up to Park City for the weekend. We stay in a condo, and then go shopping at the outlets, and spend a day up at Swiss Days, while the boys go fishing. But this year my parents had to work two out of the three days, so we broke with tradition. But Don't worry I didn't let that stop me from having a great weekend.
Friday night Dave made me a fabulous dinner and then we watched a movie on our movie list. After the move I help him make hash browns for the next morning. Saturday was an extremely busy day. Dave came and got me at 6:30 with his sister and Brother-in-law, to drive up to bountiful canyon for breakfast with his whole family. I was super nervous because this was the first time I would meet the whole family. Turns out there was nothing to be nervous about his family is great! Everyone one brought something for breakfast. Alan and Katie made these delicious croissant french toast. It was fabulous. And his mom and dad made some yummy scones. Emily brought crepes with fresh peaches(Yum)!! This just a few of the yummy stuff that was brought. It was way too much food but so fun to get together and meet his family. He has some very cute nieces and an adorable nephew that loved to play in the river while everything was being made.
After breakfast was over Dave dropped me off at home to take a nap before he came to get me so that we could go up to Swiss Days. Carolyn, Dave's sister and I wanted to go so we made it fit into our schedule. There was tons of cute stuff up there but there was one "project" that Carolyn and I are going to make for everyone Christmas presents. So I won't go in to details. We left Swiss Days after a few hour to make on time for the Salt Lake Bees Game.

We only stayed for a few hours because the water got really rough, but it was still fun.

As you can see my weekend was full, but awesome. I hope everyone else got to enjoy on of the last weekends of summer like I did!!!

Every month I participate in a Bunko group! It is a crazy group and we all have so much fun together! I am the only one in the group that isn't married so most of the conversation are enlightening!! I Thought I would take some snapshots of this month so we are missing Courtney but everyone else was there. As you all can see I was the Big Winner!!

Parents vs Rommies

So I have now lived out of my parents house for about four months and life has for sure changed! I was looking back to see how this move has affected my life, I didn't think it would change me very much but it has for good and bad.

When I lived with my parents, I would go to bed every night about 10:30pm maybe 11:30 Latest. Than I would get up no later then 7:00am(most days 5:00am). Since I moved out I have been going to bed no earlier then 12:00am and waking up at 9:00am. Now this could fall in the good and/or bad category. I'm losing a lot of sleep and have sorta be come a slug, but I'm sure having a lot of fun staying out with friends that late.

When I lived with my parents all I did was work and go to school. Now I'm have been trying to do a bunch of little adventures. I have been playing in a poker group, a dinner group, and just hanging out with a bunch of really good friends. This summer has been a lot of fun. So this will go on the good side.

When I lived with my parents I got to spend a lot of time with my family. I would hang out with my mom and my dad a lot. I would always talk to them about problems, and boys, and exciting news. I can still call them and they only live 5 min away, it just isn't the same though. I can't always get a hold of them because our lives are so busy. So this will go on the bad side.

There are a lot of things that have changed, but life is full of changes. I guess it is fun to look back and see what has changed. And I'm looking forward to the many more to come!! Hopefully soon....

Today I realized I have about two weeks left of summer before school starts!! AHHH So sad!! I feel like summer flew by, it took so long to get her and now it is almost time to go back to school, it just wasn't enough time! I still have plans for activities and trips that still need to be experienced that will take place when school is in session, but I'm still sad to see my mornings get taken over with classes.

This summer has been great, Since I moved out I have stayed busy with friends and family and I have loved every second of it!!
I hope that everyone else has enjoyed their summer and all the Vacations.
but don't forget it isn't over until the fat lady sings!

I promise to try and keep my mouth shut... I don't know how well that will work I love to sing too much!;)

Moments of uncertainty!

I want to share an experience that has been happening in my life recently but it is one that is very close to many people's hearts. This post is not meant to offend in anyway shape or form. I am writing this because it has been something that has affected me, and now is a part of my life. And because this is sort of like a journal for me and almost therapeutic.
Recently I have lost very dear co-worker. But saying co-worker is not nearly a strong enough word for this friend. Due to some emotional roller coasters in his life he decide it was his time to go. He left behind a beautiful wife and an adorable little boy, plus the many friends and family who loved him very much. As you know I have recently lost my grandmother. And although her death was hard, it was such a comfort and a blessing to know that is was her time to go. She lived a long and a great life. I think that is why this lost is so hard to handle, my friend was very young and his life was cut so short.
Here is were this post becomes difficult to write. In my life I have experienced times in my life where I have felt so low and so dead inside. Where I thought that taking my life would be much easier then to continue on living it. I know that feeling of despair, where "going on" seems to much to handle. I obviously made it out of that fog because I'm still here today to write this post. With the help of some loving parents and some amazing church leaders I overcame that pit of despair. But the biggest help came for my Father in Heaven.
This death came as a complete shock and it opened my eyes completely. I am now on the other side, asking questions of why's? Why on earth someone would want to do this? and what could I have done differently? The thing is, we don't know Why, and I probably did everything thing I could have done. But what has affected me the most is now I know what my family and my friend would have experienced if I had completed the thought process I was thinking. I now know what it feels like to loss someone you care about because they decide it was much easier to take their life then to go on living it.
So What I'm going to take away from this experiences is this:

Never assume you know what people are thinking and going through. You don't always know people's circumstances.

Always be a shoulder to cry on. I wish I could have been there for him, like so many people were there for me.

Never think that life is so hard that I can't get through it. There is always someone out that that is experiencing something much more darker than I am.

Always live life to the fullest. Everyday is a blessing and I don't want to take that for granted.

I also wanted to express my condolences to his family and loved ones. He was a great guy. He loved his family very much, that will never be questioned. And he will be missed by many.

Bowling, Parks, and FUN!!

On Friday a bunch of us got together to go bowling, It was a lot of fun. There is this Ghetto, White Trash bowling alley called Town and Country. We love it. The lanes have big screens in between that they play music videos on. You can request any song and they can play it. We like to play a lot of the good old songs.

The first game we played my team kicked butt. It was the best game I have played in a long time. I scored 115. Sad but true, at least I broke a hundred.

We had a lot a fun, after our time at the bowling alley we went to the park at daybreak.

We are just a bunch of kids at heart...

I love summer!!! Since I'm not in school and I don't have to work until 12:00... I'm always out way too late!! Last night I went to my ward activity and enjoyed a good old fashion hot dog and S mores on an open campfire.

Then we proceed to watch "Forever Strong" outside with a generator. I didn't really watch I was to busy talking with my buddy Dave...

I stole his glasses where I than had a photo shot with myself and everyone around me. I was sorta obnoxious. I felt alot like my mom and Debbie Iverson. Thats not an insult it is the truth they are always walking around taking photos. My bishop even suggest I be the ward historan I laughed because I think Debbie had that calling at one point in time. It was a lot of fun, but in the middle of the movie the generator ran out of gas. So we broke "camp" and picked up and left. A few of us weren't ready to leave yet so we decide to sit in a park and tell ghost stories. Did I say how much I love summer. We sat in the middle of this grassy field sharing blakets and telling stories. ( and taking pictures).

It was lot of laughs and alot of intense scary moments. Including Me freaking out when the sprinklers came on( I thought it was something else). I'm so grateful for moments like these that make summer memorable. It was a late night that was totaly worth the lack of sleep!

The Forth of July

I Love the Forth of July! Between the Fireworks and the fun things to do in the sun. This year was no different! My family went Boating through out the day. It was funny because in West Jordan the weather looked overcast but as we made our way to Utah Lake in Provo the skies were so blue. It was a perfect day for boating. The sun was hot and the water warm.

This was our first time going boating this year, because of the rain. Everyone got an opportunity to Swim, Ski and Wakeboard.

Steven has been trying to slalom( using one Ski) for the last couple of years, he final got up last year. But this year he got up right away. Just proves the point that anyone can lean to ski! ;)
I don't love to ski but I love to wake board, I learned a couple of years ago... I'm still not very good, and I struggled getting up this year. It made for a great workout for my arms though!! I'm still feeling sore. It was a great day at the lake!!

After the lake I went on a date with my friend Jordan, who got tickets to the Western Stampede Rodeo.

It was so much fun. I love Rodeo so much. I'm a cowgirl at heart. So any time I get to spend around cowboys is fine by me!! I tried to get more pictures but my camera battery died. :(

The best part of the night was the Mutton Busting it was so cute to see those little kids hold on for dear life on the goats. After the rodeo we went and watched the fireworks in West Jordan park! They were fantastic... Nothing beats the forth like a good rodeo and a great firework display.

Life has been moving on pretty quickly lately. My grandma passed away about a week and half ago, if you haven't already heard. I'm glad I got to say goodbye to her before she went. The funeral was wonderful, filled with lots of tears, and an underlining of peace.

My roommates have been out of the country, and it has been so nice to have the house to myself! but they should be coming home within the next couple of days! It will be nice to have them back, I do kinda miss the noise!

Kailie, Rachel and I the other night thought it would be fun to visit the temples at night...( well that wasn't the purpose behind the visit but that's the one I will tell you) but we only made it to two. The Bountiful, and Salt Lake City.

By the time we found Bountiful the lights were about to go off. We took some picture at each stop, where we also saw a few couples walking the grounds.

We wondered if we interrupted any proposals. They probably thought we were a bunch of dorks, Oh Well!

Then on Saturday my mom and sister's family came over to go swimming in my pool! It was a lot of fun. Porter has grown up so much, he just thought that it was okay to swim by himself. No need for any assistance.
I did get some sun which was really nice. I ended the day by going on a date. All in all in was a great weekend.

As time goes by... and it sure goes by fast.

This weekend I went to St. George to see all my grandparents who all seen to think it is fun to get sick at the same time.
First my 95 year old grandma. She is having a lot of health problems among them is old age. At the beginning of last week we found out that she probably won't be around much longer. we all raced down there to maybe say our last goodbyes. It was a very sad weekend to think that she won't be around much longer. She has lost about 15 pounds in the last weeks, it is about a 1 pound a day. you can really can tell she is slowly going. but on the other hand, she has lived a great and full life. she shared lots of stories of her life and it was fun to hear them.

I love her so very much, everyone always tells me that I look just like her when she was my age.. the only difference is she is about half the size I am.. I think she it 5'2" and I stand about 5'11". it ended up being one big photo shot after another.

My dads parents also found out that they are not doing very well either. My grandma went to into surgery for breast cancer at the beginning of the week and my grandpa just found out that he has leukemia. We got to chat with them while we were down there. There was a lot of tears and laughs. I'm so grateful for the strength and love that they both have shown me. I didn't get any picture of them but it was still great to see them.

We also got to do a little shopping at the farmers market. Isn't my little boy getting so big. He was so cute with Great grandma.
All in all it was a good weekend if not a little bit sad.

The last couple of weeks have been busy and full but one thing that has gone right is I have finally moved in to my house. The paint has dried, and things can go up. So here is a look at my new room.
This is when you walk into the room.
Imagine white shutters on both sides of the window( Just waiting on Dad, No pressure).

I mod podge this set of drawers so that you can see how really messy it is. I think they turned out pretty cute.

or do. That dresser was purchased from Ikea and I put it together all by myself. (with a little help from Rachel).

Moving day is this Saturday and I'm so excited. The only problem is I have too much stuff!!! I can't believe I have fit all this in just one bedroom! Granted I have one ginormous closet, but still, where have I been putting all this stuff!

Summer!! Wishful thinking!

Has anyone else been wishing for sunshine! Well this week we finally got it. I keep thinking that I need to go boating,or swimming, or just soaking up the sun!! Since the weather has been in the mid 70s it has made me wish for summer. But like all good things, it just doesn't want to last! This weekend will beginning the next ten days of rain and cold weather. Just when I can finally play and really enjoy the sun it will soon go away! I guess I will just sit back in my rain coat and plan things for warmer days!!

Bunko / Cafe Rio

Last night was my night to host Bunko. I decided to make Homemade Cafe Rio Salads. Everyone loved them so much, so I told them I would post the recipes here.

Sweet Pork
1-2 lb. pork tenderloin
1 cup brown sugar
2 cups fresh salsa
Mix sugar and salsa, pour over pork. Cook in crock pot for 8 hrs. on low. When done shred with two forks and return to juice in crock pot and allow liquid to absorb. Serve with tortillas and all the fixins!

Green Chile Rice (Serves 6)
1 cup rice
2 cups chicken broth
4 oz. green chiles
1 sm. onion, diced
1/3 cup fresh cilantro
1 tsp. oregano
1/2 tsp. salt
1-2 tsp. cumin
3 green onions.
Mix together and pour into greased 9 x 13 pan. Bake in the oven for 1 hour or until rice is done at 350.

Cilantro Salad Dressing
1 pkg. Hidden Valley Ranch Dressing (dry mix)
1 cup buttermilk
1/2- 1/3 bunch of cilantro, chopped
1 small jalapeno
1 cup mayo
1 tsp. lime juice
1-2 tomatillos (remove outer papery skin)
1 garlic clove
Blend all ingredients in blender(I doubled the batch thinking this would be enough for 12 people but one batch was probably enough... it makes alot!)

I served this all on a toasted cheese tortilla, served with lettuce and all the trimmings!!

Like I said this is all very yummy, and probably very fating. Ah oh well it was too good to pass up!

20 pounds in 30 Days!

So this weekend Instead of going to Spanish Fork to see the festival of colors, Rachel and I went to target where I proceed buy a workout video.

The video promise that if you do this video for 30 days you can lose 20 pounds! We decide to take the test. The DVD has three levels. Rachel wanted us to start at level 2, but I said no let's start at the beginning. We argued back and forth but I won and we started at level one, where we proceed to get are butt's kicked. Good thing we didn't start at level two. It was so difficult. I woke up the next day and my leg's were so sore. But I need to do it everyday, so on Sunday I did it again. Let's just say I feel it and I look like an old lady going up and down stairs.

So wish me luck of my 30 days of being to sore to move!

Just Like Any Other Day!

So today is just like any other day of the year, except for the the fact that today is the day my mother gave birth to me. It's my birthday, and it sad to say I didn't want it to come! I know I'm going to get a lot of grief after I say this but I feel old now. My mother came in my room this morning to wake my me up and wish me a happy birthday, I told her I didn't want to be 23, and she said she would trade me places. I think the problem that I'm having is that I remember when I was little, and 23 was old! I look back and think what have I done in my 23 years of life that was worth wild... really I can't think of anything, and now I'm old!!! LOL I don't think I'm that old I just think ... "what have I done!" It's not that I regret anything, it is just not enough!! So Today I think I'm going to start a new birthday tradition. Instead of having a New Years Resolution I'm going to have Another Year Resolution. One thing I can to accomplish for my 23rd year! So here is what I need help with, what is a worth wild goal that I can accomplish in one year that is realistic, anyone have an ideas?

PS this is not meant to make anyone feel old, or sorry for me!

Friday night I got together with a bunch of friends, when we couldn't decide what to do Kyle suggested we play poker.
We Bought two bags of starburst and made some virgin margaritas.
Kyle and Kip begin to teach us how to play. They were such good teachers, us girls began to kick their butts. There was no cheating either. Just good honest winning!!
I have never played poker and I won. I think the reason I won was because I am a blond and people think I don't know what I'm doing! ;) It worked every time!! Too bad it was just starburst and not real money. I can see why people lose so much money in Vegas, it is very addicting! We stayed up and played till two in the morning. and even then I was so excited about my big win I couldn't get myself to fall asleep until four in the morning. This was so much fun I hope it we do it again.

So this weekend was very productive. On Friday night I went bowling with my whole family, we had a lot of fun. Just watching Rico bowl better than his mother made the night. If you want to see the pics check out her blog (http://www.luthination.blogspot.com/)
they are very cute. I also have been extremly busy making all sorts of new jewelry but haven't had the chance to take pics and post them yet,so... to be continued. And Saturday Rachel and Jessica spent the day looking for a place to move. Thats right, it is time to leave the nest. I love living with my parents(most of the time), but I am growing up and I need to become an adult. We didn't find very many ones we really liked but I really liked this place.

As you can see it has three bedrooms and has it's own fireplace which I love, It has a community pool and gym and other amenities. We didn't get to actually see it, but that is the plan for this up coming Sat. So Wish us luck!
Then on Sat night my cousin Brooke came into town we went out to dinner and Bowling again. You would think of how much bowling I have done recently I would improve but apparently I get worst with time, getting an average of 58 on both games we played!! Wow I'm amazing. There will also be picture of our fun night, I just have to get them form my dear cousin because my camera is on the fits.
All in all it was a great weekend and I am counting down the days to the next weekend.

So my bra that I love broke, so last night I went Wal-Mart to get a new one! While I’m looking in the bra section I see this really really cute guy walk by, we make eye contact and I look away real quick cause I’m totally embarrassed to be caught in the bra section. I move on after I find a bra I like and then walk towards the makeup section. All of a sudden I am bumped from behind and all the stuff I was holding goes flying out of my arms including the bra I planned on getting. I look to see who bumped me and guess who it is? The cute guy I had just seen. I was so embarrassed because he starts to reach for my bra, and I, not wanting him to pick it up, hurry and reach for it. I was completely mortified. Anyways long story short he apologized, struck up a conversation with me and than gave me his number. I never knew that the bra section at Walmart was a great place to pick up men!
